Table numbers are a necessity at any wedding, but who says they just have to be plain old numbers? Intrigue  your guests with this enchanting table number ideas:

  • Place of photo of each of you, where your age in the photo corresponds with the table number, on each table. You’re guests will get to see cute, and maybe even embarrassing, photos of you two at every age. Be aware though this might prompt the age old question…. “So when are you having kids?”
  • Instead of numbers, give each table a name. Customize the words to the theme of your wedding: trees and flowers for a country wedding, rock stars and band names for a hip urban wedding, street names from your hometown, or even places that you two have visited together!
  • Enjoy vino? We do! Chances are your guests will too. Make custom labels for wine bottles that display the table number. Then, put multiple types of wine (all with the same table number) on each table for your guests to enjoy!
  • If you want to use numbers, jazz it up by giving the number a meaning! Under each number write a fact about you and your fiance that relates to that number. For example,  “Table 4: the date in April that we met”,  or “Table 10: the number of dates we went on before we said ‘I love you’”
  • Use photos from your engagement session with each table number. It is a great way to show off your engagement photography!

You put a lot of work into your big day, right down to every last… crumb! Food is an important part of any wedding, so here are some tips to help make sure your guests stay full and satisfied so they can dance the night away!

  • Be alert for vegetarians—they are everywhere–including at your wedding. Make sure your caterer has some vegetarian fare to offer.
  • A long night of dancing can have your guests working up an appetite! Consider having hors d’ oeuvres served late in the evening as the party is winding down so your guests can refuel!

Ovation Images, Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer, Wedding Tip #67:

Try not to schedule bachelor and bachelorette parties the night before your wedding. There is a temptation to pack events together like this when key bridal party members are flying in from out of town. But there is a risk of “too much of a good thing.” So it’s better to spread your party dates out well before your wedding day if at all possible.

One of our Pittsburgh Bride’s, Amy, said it best…. “This is the moment you dream about when you are a little girl”

Whether you dreamed about your first dance, saying I do, or the first kiss… Ovation Images, Pittsburgh Wedding Photographers,  is here to capture every moment of your dream day!

To smash or not to smash? That is the question… while you debate that, check out these few tips from Ovation Images, Pittsburgh Wedding Photographers, on how to get tasty wedding cake photography on your wedding day…
  • Try not to put the cake in a corner. Your guests and photographer will only see the backs of your heads as you cut the cake.
  • Often, if the cake is not in a corner, it is on the dance floor. This is no problem as long as you cut the cake before you dance. You can get away with the cake on the dance floor while you do your first dance, but on a small dance floor it can be awkward dancing around it.

Ovation Images Wedding Tip #51:

If you have any surprises planned such as choreography, including a special someone in the second half of the dance, etc. be sure to tell your photographer. You don’t want something YouTube-worthy to fall by the way side because the photographers and videographers didn’t know it was coming. You have memorable events planned- get memorable wedding photography to remember it with!

Ovation Images Wedding Photography Tip #50:

If you want your guests to dance, you have to be on the dance floor. Your guests will tend to do what you do. If you are walking around visiting tables all night, they will sit at the table waiting for your visit. If you are on the dance floor , they will come up and dance just to be with you. So get out there and get dancing! Not only is it fun, but it makes for amazing wedding reception photos!!

Your reception should be full of fun and smiles! Make sure this happens by starting it off with a picture perfect entrance by following these tips from Ovation Images, Pittsburgh Wedding Photography

  • Have the DJ tell everyone to twirl their napkins over their heads (like Terrible Towels!) as you make your grand entrance. 150 twirling napkins accompanied by raucous cheering will be a grand entrance you will never forget.
  • Don’t change into comfortable shoes before your grand entrance. All eyes will be on you- show off those shoes!
  • During your reception planning process, review your grand entrance path into the hall with your reception coordinator. Look at the floor plan together and try to arrange tables so that there is enough room for two people to walk in side-by-side. Ideally, the path into the room should be as straight as possible. Delegate someone not in the bridal party to make sure that tables are not crowded into the space that you have to walk through to get into the hall.

At Ovation Images, Pittsburgh Wedding Photographers, we will be your helping hand through every step of the planning process! We have a list of great vendors, know all the small tips for a smooth wedding day, and above all will capture your day flawlessly! But thats not the only hand you need to hold…

Ovation Tip #44: Hold Hands… a lot! A lot of brides and grooms get caught up in talking to their guests at the reception. This can lead to the couple getting separated and spending most of the night apart. Then, you have two completely different memories of your reception. This is the first day of the rest of your life-  Holding hands will ensure you stay close and start creating memories together!
