Marta & Nick had an elegant outdoor ceremony at Phipps Conservatory and fantastic tented reception at Marta’s parents’ estate.  They made photography a big priority on their wedding day, setting aside 4 hours of time with us between the ceremony and reception, including 3 hours with just the 2 of them.  And wow did we have fun!  Check out all the great locations and unique things we got to do!  The lavish reception, amazing food, and wild party afterwards made for a truly memorable event.  Marta & Nick thanks so much to you and your families for making us such a big part of your incredible day!

They got married in a beautiful church, stopped to take photos at a traditional Pittsburgh wedding landmark, and finished off their day in winning style at the Bucco’s stadium!

The holiday season is the biggest time for engagements, so if your man “pops the question” this winter be sure to check these items off of your to-do list immediately:

  • Get a manicure. Everyone will be asking to see your ring and taking photos of your new bling – make sure it looks it’s best next to freshly painted nails!
  • Sign up with Pinterest- it is a bride-to-be’s paradise. You could spend days on end clicking through DIY wedding details, inspiring photos, and millions of wedding planning tips! Get an inspiration board together so you go into appointments with a solid idea of what you want from each vendor. Bonus points if you download the app for your phone so you can show them photos of that you love.
  • Have the “money talk” with your fiance and whomever else may be helping you to pay for the wedding. It is better to start off knowing exactly how much you can spend rather than cutting out details, which you have become attached to, later.
  • Insure your ring. This is often over looked, but very important. You have waited long enough for that “rock”, so be sure to keep it covered in case of an emergency.
  • Call Ovation Images, Pittsburgh Wedding Photographers! You will want to make sure you book your date early to ensure you will get flawless memories of your big day! Plus, the engagement session can help you get a jump start on save the dates!

Ranked as the Second Most Beautiful Vista in America by USA Weekend Magazine, shooting at the top of Mount Washington is almost like cheating for us photographers.  We had a blast with Amy &  Nick at the West End Overlook and along the river at the bottom of the mountain.  With winter finally behind us, it felt liberating to shoot without our coats on, and no rain to dampen the day.  Bring on the sunshine!

Sara and Jonathan brought in the New Year with an an elegant wedding on the top of Mount Washington, at LaMont.  The intimate setting combined with Jon & Sara’s well chosen music created a classic jazz club atmosphere.  We loved it!  And of course the food was fantastic too.

We’re glad the rain let up enough for us to head up to the observation deck at the  Duquesne Incline. Is there anything better than fireworks at your wedding?

Thanks Sara & Jon for bringing in the New Year with us!
