Ovation Images is locally active on behalf of regional charities, and in service of good causes. We love our hometown folks–it’s that simple. Here is a partial list of charities and organizations that we have recently collaborated with, to whom we have  donated either time or money or both.

  • Butler Health System Foundation
  • Washington County Children and Youth Services
  • Harley Davidson Charities
  • Make A Wish
  • United States Marine Corps
  • A Night To Remember
  • Free The Children

This year, we are also working on behalf of Love For Lexi, the official 2014  charity of Ovation Images. If you represent a charitable organization with professional photography requirements, we would welcome the opportunity to talk with you about ways that we can work together! Please call Don at 412-735-4959.

Ovation Images is Pittsburgh’s most-trusted wedding and family photography studio since 2001. Where else can you see over 100 real Pittsburgh weddings except on our YouTube Channel? Please also visit the Ovation Images wedding blog! And check out our high school seniors blog!

While it may be stressful at times, planning a wedding should be fun! To make things easier on you, follow these easy tips from Ovation Images, Pittsburgh Wedding Photographers:

  • If you do not hire a wedding planner, ask someone you trust (and who would enjoy the job!) to take charge of coordination for the day.
  • Related, you need to delegate! Ask friends and family to take on individual chores to make sure the plans you so carefully laid are equally carefully accomplished. You’ve worked hard to plan the wedding, now relax and enjoy yourself and allow someone else to take care to the last minute touches.

Ovation Images, Pittsburgh Wedding Photographer, Wedding Tip #71:

Ask your parents and bridal party not to video tape during the ceremony and reception. Otherwise the only pictures you will have of them will be ones where they are holding a video camera in front of their face! And you wouldn’t want to miss a great wedding day moment like this…

Okay, the truth is out–I might cry at your wedding. There are certainly many deeply energized emotional moments at every wedding. But the stuff that gets to me usually revolves around your Dad. I connect with your Dad without hardly even talking with him because I am one and I have plenty of kids close to marrying age (I have 8 kids–no, that’s not a typo).

I see your Dad give you away and dance with you and I am right there. For me, those moments are electric. I know exactly what he is feeling.  Naturally, I always work to capture those feelings for you.

He Feels What I Will Be Feeling When My Turn Comes

Your dance with Dad is a marvelously special thing. I’m not sure when and where that tradition originated, but that dance has a ache-y feeling to it that just tugs at my heartstrings. I sometimes glance around to see the other Dads watching Dad dance with you. Right then, we’re all in “The Dad Club”. Even the guy with the 18-month old toddler in his arms understands the power and beauty of being a Dad a whole lot more completely–just by watching your dance.

By the way, as photographers, it’s easy to cry at your wedding–we just hide behind our cameras!

Ever hear of the big town of Cabot, PA? Me neither–at least until last Saturday. Autumn and Drew had an absolutely stunning Western Pennsylvania setting for a beautiful wedding day. We saw some rain. But we were having too much fun to pay attention! Take a look:

In case you are looking for a reception venue in the Butler area, Autumn and Drew had their reception at Cooper Hall.
