You don’t have to carry a purse on wedding day! Here are some tips to help you carry less and eliminate stress!

  • Tell your bridal party and parents not to wear a watch on your wedding day. Delegate  one bridesmaid to keep track of the time and whisper quietly in your ear only if she sees things getting too far off track. Tell your bridal party and parents that you want it this way to keep stress to a minimum. They will understand and your day will be free of stress-inducing clock-watchers.
  • Delegate one person to keep their cell phone on and answer it at all times (except the ceremony of course!) during your day. Give their phone number to your photographer, your parents and all your vendors so that emergency calls get through while unimportant calls get screened.

Wedding Tips Number # 11:
Heels may look good, but they sure can hurt! Our Pittsburgh Brides often bring a second pair of shoes for the reception, but be sure to  keep your heels with you even after you have switched shoes. You may want them for wedding pictures, dances, or just for looks!

Your wedding day can be very emotional. For perfect wedding photography, follow these Ovation Images tips!

  • Use waterproof makeup. Foundation, eyeliner and mascara all should be waterproof. Otherwise, you may find yourself in the bathroom one or more times during an emotional day–re-applying your makeup!
  • The high-end choice for makeup that will be photographed is airbrush makeup. Airbrush makeup is the professional standard. The makeup you see on TV personalities today is all applied by air brush. Air brush makeup is lightweight, waterproof and gives flawless coverage.

Ovation Images Wedding Tip #6:

Where and when are your flowers being delivered? If you want pictures with your bridesmaids before the ceremony, then you need to have the flowers delivered where you are getting ready—NOT to the church. Have the florist or a friend take the boutineers to the guys. This will ensure you get some fun flower shots- a must for all Pittsburgh Weddings!

We all wear makeup, but did you know that there are some important guidelines when it comes to wedding day makeup? To look your best on wedding day check out some of the tips from Ovation Images, Pittsburgh Wedding Photographers, on what exactly makes photography perfect makeup!

  • Try to use a professional makeup artist if at all possible or do your makeup yourself. Our experience is that having a friend or relative do your makeup is not the best choice unless he or she is a professional and you have worked with them before.
  • Please tell your makeup person not to use Bare Essentials or Bare Elegance brand makeup– or any makeup containing titanium dioxide. Titanium Dioxide is a sun-blocking agent that is too shiny in many photographs. There are brands of makeup specifically made for photography. Ask your makeup artist or check with Ovation Images if they are unsure about which make up brands are best for photography.
  • Have your makeup artist use a moisturizing concealer under your eyes. When professionally applied, concealer will be the perfect complement to your eye makeup.
