About Us

Hi!  We are Don Merz and Shawn Rodgers.  We are two creative, fun-loving guys who are really dedicated to our brides and to photography.  We met in 2006 at a week long professional seminar for wedding and portrait photographers.  It only took a few weddings to realize that together we can provide wedding couples with the kind of photography and personal service that most solo photographers can only aspire to.   Our styles compliment each other.  We push each other to be our best.  We also have a blast working together with our couples.  You can find out more about our Wedding Services, but for now let’s get personal.  So what are we like?

Shawn

  •  I’m in my late 30′s
  •  I have an amazing wife and 2 awesome kids, my boy is 7 and my girl is 4.
  •  We have a golden retriever named Reilly.  He understands English.
  •  Loves:  The great outdoors, cooking, gourmet food, skiing, travel, river and stream fishing, geeky stuff (computers, sci-fi, anything electronic), reading, sushi, tickle fights with my kids, rainy Sunday mornings on the couch, and of course photography.

 Don

  • Don is in his youthful mid 50”s
  • Don has 8 kids (I counted).  They’re all grown now.  He loves to get on one of his motorcycles to go visit them.
  • Don has 2 dogs named Tillie and Chewy.
  • Loves:  Motorcycles and vintage cars, road trips, gourmet food, geeky stuff (Don is the gadget king), reading, sushi, and of course photography.  (You knew we’d have some things in common).

We’re also both fairly camera shy, as you might be able to tell from this page.  So we understand when you feel the same way.  It’s a running joke that we shoot everybody but ourselves.  Don’t worry though, we’re very respectable friendly looking fellas.  Rest assured, we do not look like this.
